Air traffic at Chicago 's O'Hare International Airport came to a standstill when the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a ground stop on Saturday morning as a major winter storm system unfolded across the region.

More than 100 flights were cancelled and over 785 were delayed out of Chicago O'Hare International Airport Saturday morning, according to Flightaware.com.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued multiple advisories for the Chicago region, including a winter storm warning , gale warning, and hazardous weather outlook.
