Bob Mortimer , the comedian who co-hosts the popular BBC programme Gone Fishing with Paul Whitehouse , has shared a "sad" update about their beloved dog Ted.

The four-legged friend has been a regular feature on the show since its inception in 2018.

During an appearance on Saturday Kitchen today, (29 November) Bob was asked by host Matt Tebbutt about Ted's wellbeing.

In response, Bob humorously imitated Ted's voice, saying: "I'm alright mate."

However, he then revealed that Ted is "knocking on a bit," being 15 years old. Despite his age, Bob said: "He still loves coming out with us, and he seems very happy."
