Luckless Dundee United keeper Yevhenii Kucherenko has been ruled out for several weeks through injury. ‌

There had been a lot of talk whether or not the Ukrainian would retain his place for tonight’s game at Kilmarnock . However, the decision has been taken out of manager Jim Goodwin’s hands. ‌

The 26-year-old suffered a thigh tear in training at the start of the week. United have since had the injury scanned and Record Sport understands the results have revealed that the keeper could be sidelined for anything from four to six weeks. ‌

It is a major setback for Kucherenko. The summer signing has had an uneasy introduction to Scottish football.

He has been on the end of a few disappointing goals and that was the case in last weekend’s defeat to Falkirk. ‌
