A 27-year-old woman sustained life-altering injuries in a single-vehicle accident early Saturday morning in Etobicoke. The Ontario Provincial Police reported that the crash occurred around 4 a.m. in the southbound express lanes of Highway 427, near Rathburn Road.

According to police, the vehicle was traveling south when it collided with a guardrail on the left side of the highway. Emergency responders rushed the driver to the hospital. Initially, her injuries were considered life-threatening, but they were later classified as life-altering.

The southbound express lanes of Highway 427 were closed for several hours as authorities conducted their investigation. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Toronto OPP detachment at 416-235-4981.

In a separate incident, a man is in critical condition following a stabbing on the Danforth on Friday night. Toronto Police reported that officers responded to the scene on Danforth Avenue, near Greenwood Avenue, around 9:20 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from a stab wound. He was immediately transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses reported seeing blood inside a nearby restaurant, and police are reviewing security camera footage from local businesses. The area in front of the restaurant was cordoned off with crime scene tape, but it remains unclear whether the stabbing occurred inside the establishment or outside. No additional details have been released regarding the incident or any potential suspects.
