STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- To the victors go the spoils!
And so the members of the Tottenville varsity baseball team received their championship rings on Thanksgiving Eve night at the Huguenot school for winning the PSAL 3A city crown last June with a 5-2 victory over Inwood Campus at Staten Island University Community Park.
It was the Pirates’ 13th baseball city crown in the PSAL.
The ceremony took place during halftime of the boys’ varisty basketball game.
“A heartfelt thank-you goes to Principal Ms. Gina Battista, Athletic Director Mr. Cliff Bloom, Assistant Athletic Director Mr. Lenny Hession, and Coordinator of Student Activities Ms. Jesse Siegel,” said Tottenville skipper Mike Grippo. “Their dedication and hard work made the evening possible.
