Ahead of a Monday Night Football showdown with the New England Patriots, New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart didn’t shy away from talking about the Giants’ recently fired head coach, Brian Daboll.

“It sucked,” Dart said of Daboll’s firing . “I have a lot of love for Coach Dabes, and we’re really close, so to kind of see it go down that way, especially my rookie year, it was hard. … I wish we could have done more as his players to get more wins for him.”

Dart has overcome franchise drama during his rookie season to establish himself as a rising talent in the National Football League. Entering Monday’s Week 13 battle, Dart has a passer rating of 93.5 this season with 1,417 yards, 10 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in nine games played.
