What we know about the Palestine protest in Manchester today
Around 200 pro-Palestine protesters gathered at St Peter's Square this afternoon (November 29) alongside a number of counter-protesters. Many were holding signs with some appearing to show support for the banned group Palestine Action.
Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that 32 people at the protest were arrested under the Terrorism Act 2000. Several people were seen being either led or carried away by officers as shouts of "we love you" and "shame on you" were heard.
Video footage of one arrest shows a line of officers making there way through the crowd appearing to carry somebody away. In some cases, protesters cheered as people were arrested and carried away by police to the sound of applause.
