OTTAWA COUNTY, MI — Eastbound I-96, near 24th Avenue in Wright Township, closed following a crash that left a 36-year-old woman in “serious condition” Saturday, Nov. 29.
The 11:15 a.m. crash occurred as a pickup truck driver attempted to pass a county snow plow, per an Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office press release.
As the 37-year-old Coopersville driver passed the plow in the left lane, he clipped its side, sending his pickup truck into the median guard wires, per the report.
A 36-year-old female passenger was transported to an area hospital in serious condition, per the report, but both drivers were uninjured.
East bound I-96 remains closed at 48th Avenue while police investigate and clean up the site. This crash remains under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
