The college football world is patiently waiting for Lane Kiffin’s decision, which could come any minute now — perhaps while LSU closes out its regular season with a road game at Oklahoma.

That’s the backdrop for this matchup in cold, windy Norman, Oklahoma.

The No. 8 Sooners (9-2) have plenty to play for. They can essentially lock up a spot in the College Football Playoff if they defeat the Tigers at home. If they lose, they’ll probably get left out.

LSU, on the other hand, is just playing out the string of a lost season. Its offense turned in a dismal performance last week in a 13-10 win over Western Kentucky, and now it’s set to take on one of the nation’s top defenses without starters such as Garrett Nussmeier, Aaron Anderson and Braelin Moore.
