A prolific offender who once claimed he wanted to "wipe the slate clean" is back behind bars after adding yet another conviction to a criminal record spanning more than a decade.

Jack Swanson, 32, of Park Road, Kirkby , has amassed 20 previous convictions for 38 offences, including burglaries, arson attacks and drug crimes. His latest jail sentence, imposed on Monday, November 24, follows a police raid that uncovered £10,000 in cash, cocaine, cannabis, scales and multiple mobile phones linked to drug supply.

Swanson's offending dates back to his teenage years. He was first convicted in 2009 and went on to commit a series of offences throughout his late teens and early twenties.
