Police said a man was found shot and killed Nov. 29 in north Phoenix.
At about 1:50 a.m., police responded to a welfare check near 19th Avenue and Thunderbird Road, where they found a man with "multiple gunshot wounds," according to Sgt. Jen Zak, spokesperson for the Phoenix Police Department.
The man, who was not identified, was pronounced dead on location by the Phoenix Fire Department, Zak said.
According to Zak, the shooting was being investigated as a homicide.
It was not immediately clear what led up to the welfare check or whether any suspects were identified.
Zak said 19th Avenue just north of Thunderbird was temporarily closed while investigators processed the scene, but the roadway has since cleared.
Police asked anyone with information about the death to contact Silent Wit
