BENTON HARBOR, MI - A two-month drug and trafficking investigation ended with search warrants executed at an apartment complex in Southwest Michigan.
On Nov. 25, Southwest Enforcement Team (SWET) detectives and Berrien County Sheriff’s Tactical Response Unit seized 86 grams of methamphetamine, a combined 33 grams of fentanyl and heroin, a digital scale, and other drug trafficking materials.
Police said a 30-year-old Benton Harbor man was arrested and booked at the Berrien County Jail on charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, fentanyl, and heroin; maintaining a drug house; and tampering with evidence.
Each year in Southwest Michigan, fatal drug overdoses claim more lives than fatal car crashes and homicides combined, the news release said.
