The Pittsburgh Steelers will have a big name making his Steelers debut on Sunday when they take on the Buffalo Bills.

The Steelers are elevating cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. to the active roster, per Adam Schefter. Samuel was signed to the practice squad on November 11th after recovering from a neck injury. He was labeled one of the top free agents of the 2025 class, but the injury kept teams away. After he was cleared to return, though, the Steelers jumped at the chance to sign him.

Samuel was drafted in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Chargers, where he picked off six passes in 50 games.
