During this Thanksgiving season let’s look at some of the things that we’re thankful for in this day and age.
The “good old days” are often the subject around the dinner table when all the family is gathered, but those days may not be as good as some of us baby boomers like to think they were. Let’s look back at some of the things that we enjoy now that have improved over the last 50 years.
The average life expectancy in 1950 was approximately 71.02 years in the United States, and in 1960 it was 69.77 years. For the year 2023 the CDC reports that life expectancy for females is 81.1 years and for males it’s 75.8 years – averaging out to 78.4 years. That’s quite an improvement, wouldn’t you say? Modern medicine and modern conveniences have a lot to do with that.
