Cortina-bound crew hammers home-team Christina Black en route to championship sweep in Halifax

Rachel Homan is Olympic bound.

Not a surprise, really, given her dominance in the curling world over the last few years.

But it was made official — with punctuation — Saturday afternoon after winning the 2025 Montana’s Canadian Curling Trials in Halifax.

Homan hammered home-town hero Christina Black in 11-3 fashion, sweeping the best-of-three women’s championship series to earn the right to represent the nation at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in February.

And the tears flowed from there.

“There’s no words,” a smiling Homan told TSN and the Scotiabank Centre crowd. “It was our dream four years ago, putting this team together. That was the goal. And it’s hard to believe that we’re here.”
