Snowfall rates are expected to intensify tonight as a winter storm system engulfs Michigan, with nearly a foot of snow expected in some areas by early Sunday.

The snowfall totals are expected to be the highest in West Michigan. The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has done a great job putting together a city-by-city table showing how much snow is forecast, and when those inches will accumulate.

Here is the snowfall forecast list by city:

Kalamazoo could be the snowfall winner if it gets the nearly 12 inches that’s expected. Battle Creek and Holland are both looking to top 10 inches of snow, while Grand Rapids is forecast to come in just under that mark. Lansing could see 8 inches, while Muskegon is expected to get 9. Jackson could have more than 7 inches of snow.
