Two women give generously to children in need
MOUNT STERLING, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A holiday shoe drive in Montgomery County is getting a major boost after two women purchased shoes for nearly every child on a local Angel Tree.
Shoe Sensation in Mount Sterling partnered with Gateway Children’s Services for its annual Shoe Tree Drive, an effort that provides new shoes for children in need. Each tag hanging on the tree represents a local child supported by the organization.
Employees said two women — identified as Katelyn and Kelly — visited the store this week and bought shoes for 27 children. The only tags left on the tree were two that had already been claimed.
