Over 1,000 flights nationwide have been canceled, many of which are due to a snowstorm hitting the upper Midwest, according to FlightAware .
Over 700 of those cancellations have been reported for Chicago O’Hare International Airport, which also announced over 500 delays as of Saturday morning, the website shows.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued winter weather advisories for the Chicago region, warning of heavy snow and high wind gusts on Saturday, which could last until Sunday morning. The region could receive between 6 and 10 inches.
For Boston Logan International Airport, roughly 30 flights have been delayed, according to FlightAware. Eight of those flights were traveling to Chicago.
