CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - For Iowa defensive lineman Aaron Graves, getting a couple tackles against Nebraska paled in comparison to what happened less than 24 hours earlier.
His wife Aubrey gave birth to his first born son, Grayson, making for an exciting couple of days for the graduate player.
“The last 24 hours are probably the craziest of my life,” Graves said. “Just like, the emotions of all of that in the 24-hour timespan is just ridiculous. Last game as a senior, getting the win at Nebraska, and my wife obviously giving birth to our boy and our first born of our family, it’s pretty incredible.”
Despite the whirlwind 24 hours, Graves did get a good night’s rest before the game.
“That’s like the most sleep I’ll get, I guess, for the next four years,” Graves said.
