The North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust has issued a public advisory, urging individuals not to visit their friends or family in hospital if they have experienced either diarrhoea or vomiting, amid ongoing norovirus cases.
A video was posted by the Trust featuring an emergency care nurse advising those who have had either symptom to wait 48 hours post-recovery before visiting, as they could still transmit the infection to their loved ones.
According to the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), vomiting and diarrhoea are two symptoms of norovirus, along with high temperature, stomach pain and aching limbs.
