After clearing a million people in 2021, four years sooner than expected, Edmonton’s population boom has continued.

As part of their onboarding orientation on Tuesday, city councillors were presented with administration’s take on to how to manage the city’s growing pains. From 2022 to 2024 the city added another 100,000 people — a 10 per cent increase in population in two years. And according to administration, that pace of growth isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
