STOUGHTON, Wis. (WMTV) - While many Wisconsin communities postponed weekend events because of an incoming winter storm , Stoughton moved ahead with its first-ever Snowflake Stroll on Saturday — a new promotion designed to bring shoppers into local businesses at the start of the holiday season.

The Stoughton Chamber of Commerce launched the event to encourage residents and visitors to stop in, shop, and explore stores they may not have visited before.

Shoppers could pick up a Snowflake Stroll map, visit at least three participating businesses, and make a purchase of $15 or more to be entered to win a “Snowflake Surprise” basket filled with items from local shops.

Chamber President Sarah Ebert said the promotion is meant to highlight the uniqueness of Stoughton’s downtown businesses.
