A 25-year-old inmate serving time for drug dealing in Puerto Rico died early Saturday at Federal Correctional Institution at Fort Dix , prison officials said in a statement.
Jarette Morales was found unresponsive at 2:15 a.m. and EMS officials pronounced him dead a short time later.
The prison statement did not say who found Morales, where in the prison he was discovered unconscious or what may have caused his death. The statement said no employees or other incarcerated individuals were injured at the Burlington County facility.
The prison said it notified the FBI of Morales’ passing.
Morales is the third inmate found dead this year in the prison, also known as FCI Fort Dix, a low-security institution located on the grounds of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.
