The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has reported two separate crashes Saturday evening across the state due to slick roads.

Snowfall rates are expected to intensify tonight as a winter storm system engulfs Michigan, with nearly a foot of snow expected in some areas by early Sunday .

The first incident was reported at 8:32 p.m. in Berrien County, where all westbound lanes of I-94 are closed after the Sawyer Road exit, near the Indiana border.

MDOT posted the second crash at 8:40 p.m. in Allegan County. Southbound lanes are closed on M-40 at 32nd Street after Thomas Street.
