GRAHAM, N.C. — Two young men rescued a woman from a burning home early Saturday morning, according to Graham Fire Chief Tommy Cole.
Chief Cole said the fire started around 6:25 a.m. at a home on Williamsdale Road in Graham. A woman was asleep inside when the flames broke out.
Andrew Heath, 21, and Omar Owens, 22, were heading to the auto shop where they both work as mechanics. Heath lives one street over from Williamsdale, and Owens had stayed at Heath’s home the night before. The two have been friends since middle school. They told WFMY News 2 they had just turned from Heath’s street onto Williamsdale when Owens noticed a glow near the front door of a neighbor’s home.
