ALTOONA, Pa. – When Central Catholic and Harrisburg football took the field Saturday night the focus was supposed to be on Cougars running back and Virginia Tech recruit Messiah Mickens.
But by the time it was all said and done, no one could take their eyes off Vikings sophomore Chris Black.
“It’s hard to put into words what that kid did,” Central Catholic coach Ryan Lehmeier said. “His resiliency and his ability to bounce back after a season of being injured…but everybody in that locker room and everybody on the coaching staff, we know what he’s made of.”
Harrisburg certainly got a firsthand look it will never forget.
Black shredded the vaunted Harrisburg (13-1) defense as he finished with 37 carries for 217 yards and three touchdowns to lead Central Catholic (13-1) to a dominating 32
