The family of a woman who was twice misdiagnosed by doctors before discovering she had a rare and aggressive form of cancer are urging others to persist if they feel something is wrong with their health.
Lauren Carey, 30, from Banstead, Surrey, is now ticking off her 'bucket list' after being told her condition - squamous cell carcinoma of the bladder - is incurable.
Her sister, Megan Carey, 28, is encouraging those uncertain about their health diagnoses to seek multiple opinions, following Lauren's initial dismissal by medical professionals.
She stated: "The doctors could definitely have done better. They have been awful. Lauren wanted to complain, but it is not worth it now because it takes years and she won't be here to see the outcome.
