Heartbreaking footage has emerged of a dog who appears to be “losing hope” after spending more than 450 days at the shelter.

Olivia Decas, a volunteer at the Associated Humane Societies (AHS) Newark Shelter, posted a video to her TikTok , @movingwithmutts , introducing followers to one of the facility’s longest-serving canine residents , Randy.

Decas volunteers at the shelter twice a week and is a passionate advocate for dogs like Randy. “The dogs at the shelter mean so much to me,” she told Newsweek . “The best part of my week is making sure they get a moment of joy.”

Sadly, joy has been in short supply for Randy of late. He’s desperate for someone to give him a chance. He needs a forever home. But for as long as he can remember, he’s been in the shelter. “He is about 3 years
