The family of a Quincy resident who died while standing next to his car on I-93 north near the Andrew Square exit in 2022 last week sued both Jason Reed, the man who admitted killing him and Blend, a bar on Dorchester Avenue in Dorchester that the family says ignored the fact Reed was seriously intoxicated before he left.
In its suit, filed in Suffolk Superior Court and seeking at least $15 million in damages, the family of Estevan Horne, 26, says he would still be alive but for the gross negligence of both Reed and Blend.
It's the second such suit against a Boston bar filed this month. Earlier, the family of a man dragged to his death by a Green Line trolley at North Station in 2023 sued the bar where he'd spent several hours drinking before allegedly stumbling onto the Green Line platf
