MURRAY – Murray-Calloway County Hospital’s hospice director spoke to the Board of Trustees at its monthly meeting last week about a variety of initiatives, including palliative medicine and counseling children who have lost a parent.
Hospice Director Jane Bright said the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House has had 111 admissions in 2025, up from 95 admissions the year before. Admissions were down for home hospice, but she said this was because more people were receiving care at the Hospice House itself. Although those admissions were down, she said the patient days increased significantly, from 4,048 to 6,375, leading to a revenue increase of about $560,000.
