Britain is preparing for a substantial 34cm snowfall. Weather charts indicate a 13-inch snow event could strike the country in the lead-up to Christmas , with every area from the southern coastline to the Scottish Highlands potentially experiencing the conditions.

Meteorologists have identified December 10 as the date when the wintery weather will start to take effect. The snow is predicted to move across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Areas likely to be affected include the West Midlands, Greater Manchester, Staffordshire, Lancashire, Warwickshire, Shropshire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire, with the cold weather continuing for multiple days.
