DALLAS — With grocery prices still climbing, making every dollar count is becoming harder for families using SNAP benefits.

Nearly 1 in 6 North Texans is food insecure, and many households run out of food before the month is over, according to the North Texas Food Bank.

Interfaith Family Services , a Dallas nonprofit offering housing, financial support and childcare, is stepping in to help by sharing three simple strategies to stretch every dollar:

1. Double

Take advantage of double-dollar programs at places like the Dallas Farmers Market. These programs allow you to get twice the amount of healthy food for your money, making your benefits go further.

2. Discount
