In overtime of the "Sunday Night Football" game between the Denver Broncos and the Washington Commanders, Washington quarterback Marcus Mariota connected with wide receiver Terry McLaurin for a short touchdown pass that decreased Denver's lead to 27-26.
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn kept his offense on the field to attempt what could have become a game-winning two-point conversion. However, Broncos linebacker Nik Bonitto batted down a Mariota pass to secure the victory for the visitors. Following the defeat that dropped Washington to 3-9 on the season, Mariota addressed Quinn's decision for the game's final snap.
