The Emporia State Hornets basketball team played in two matches over the break against the number 19-ranked team, Oklahoma Baptist, and another against Northwestern Oklahoma. Both games ended up in Hornet losses, but in different ways.
Starting with the game against Oklahoma Baptist, the Hornets started with a 5-0 start, holding the Bison to zero points for the first 3:52 of the game. After the good start, the lead from the Hornets quickly went away as the Bison would go on a 12-2 run and never relinquish the lead again. After that first run, the Bison added another eight in a row to build the lead to 20-10 at the halfway point of the first half.
