The Public Health Agency of Canada has awarded $704,886 over three years to support the rollout of the Icelandic Prevention Model, known as Planet Youth, in Haldimand and Norfolk counties.
The Planet Youth approach focuses on strengthening protective factors in young people’s lives to reduce risks associated with substance use.
“This investment gives our community a powerful opportunity to better understand the realities young people are navigating today,” Dr. Jason Malenfant, Medical Officer of Health for Grand Erie Public Health (GEPH), said in a media release.
“ With strong partnerships and solid, local data, we can build supports that genuinely reflect what youth need to feel safe, empowered, and able to thrive. I’m grateful to all the partners who are stepping up to make this
