The Boston Fire Department reports firefighters responded to 74 Birchcroft Rd. in Hyde Park to find "heavy fire from multiple windows" around 3 a.m.

The department reports the home's single resident was transported to a local hospital.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading from nearby houses, the department says, adding the cause is under investigation.
