GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) -A new era of Gator football is starting as the university has hired its next head coach, Tulane coach Jon Sumrall.

Sumrall’s been a head coach for four seasons, two with Troy University and the last two with Tulane. He has posted a record of 42 wins and 11 losses in those four years, leading the green wave to the conference championship game in each season.

The Gators pivoted to Sumrall after their top choice, Lane Kiffin, left the University of Mississippi to take a job at LSU.
