The Thanksgiving break has come and gone now, and the Lady Hornets basketball squad didn’t play a game until the final day of the break. They faced Saint Mary (Kan.) after a five-day break, but it didn’t appear they were rusty as they throttled Saint Mary 91-55 to end the first non-conference slate of the season.
The Lady Hornets were coming off a 75-62 win over Quincy and continued that momentum against Saint Mary. They started the game with the first six points and never looked back as everything was clicking for the Lady Hornets. The lead expanded to 14-4 before Saint Mary got into their groove. The first quarter ended 21-12, and the Lady Hornets continued to put pressure on the Saint Mary defense, outscoring them 18-11 in the second quarter.
Heading into halftime, the score was 39-23
