The Huskers have parted ways with their defensive coordinator after one season, according to a report.
Big Red Zone Insider Sean Callahan reported for On3 that John Butler was relieved of his duties with Nebraska. An official announcement is expected Monday, Callahan said.

Butler received a two-year contract from Nebraska after his promotion to defensive coordinator. According to his contract, Butler's salary was $1 million for the 2025 season, increasing to $1.1 million for 2026.
