One of the French capital's iconic department stores opened an ice rink with a view up on its rooftop overlooking the Opera house and the Eiffel Tower.

Shoppers can glide around the 176 square meter artificial ice rink - its synthetic surface that resembles hard plastic is more environment friendly according to the Galeries Lafayette.
