After hearing evidence and arguments in a trial that lasted more than four years, Justice Craig Parry will decide the fate of Jeffrey Sloka.
Sloka, a former Kitchener doctor, has pleaded not guilty to assaulting 41 female patients over several years.
“I wish I could give everyone a timeline,” Parry told prosecutors and defence lawyers Friday as the judge-alone trial concluded in a Kitchener court.
He expects to announce a verdict on an unknown date after February.
Lawyers are scheduled to meet virtually Feb. 27 to hear about Parry’s progress toward a verdict, and possibly his timeline for releasing it.
Prosecutors allege that Sloka, who ran a neurology clinic at Grand River Hospital, took sexual advantage of patients with medical problems who were desperate for answers.
