The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency will offer four flu vaccination clinics, according to a community announcement.

The clinics begin Dec. 2 in Three Rivers and continue through Dec. 5 in Hillsdale.

The health agency is reminding residents that it’s not too late to get vaccinated. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention began recognizing National Influenza Vaccination Week in 2005 to highlight the importance of getting the flu shot throughout the holiday season and beyond.

Flu vaccines cause antibodies to develop in the body about two weeks after vaccination, according to the announcement. These antibodies provide protection against infection. Every flu season is different, and influenza infection can affect people differently.
