MACON, Ga. — Macon-Bibb Coroner Leon Jones has released the name of the man killed in a hit-and-run in north Macon.
Jones said that Darien Cato, 24, was killed in the hit-and-run at 2600 Riverside Drive, near Pierce Avenue, on Sunday.
Jones said Cato lived in Macon and was killed by a Honda Civic. Jones said the man who hit him abandoned their car and fled on foot.
The Georgia State Patrol said that Francisco Chan-Garcia, 22 , was arrested and charged in the deadly hit-and-run. They said Cato was in the road when Chan-Garcia hit him.
According to Bibb County Jail records, Chan-Garcia was arrested on Sunday night and was booked into the Bibb County LEC early Monday morning.
