A 32-year-old Guelph man was charged after leaving the scene of a single-vehicle crash in another vehicle.
Guelph police said on Friday, just before 8 p.m., officers were called to Janefield Avenue and Torch Lane after the driver of a white pickup truck lost control, left the road and slammed into a hydro pole. The driver, police said, was seen getting into the passenger seat of another vehicle and left the area.
Security video from a nearby home showed the truck travelling at a high rate of speed before the driver lost control, drove across a sidewalk and hit the pole, police said.
On Saturday, the owner of the truck was found and arrested. He was charged with dangerous driving and failing to remain.
He will appear in court Jan. 6.
