Baskin-Robbins is celebrating 80 years with 80-cent scoops of ice cream.

According to a news release sent to USA TODAY from the international chain of ice cream parlors, "everyone's invited to the party" on Sunday, Dec. 7, when 80-cent scoops will be available for purchase at participating locations nationwide.

Founded by business partners Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins, Baskin-Robbins has scooped out a variety of 31 flavors in Glendale, California, and beyond since Dec. 7, 1945.

"We’re sharing an 80th birthday gift with our Rewards members, 80-cent scoops, to honor all the memories and moments of which Baskin-Robbins has been fortunate to be a part across eight decades," Nicole Boutwell, VP of Brand Marketing and Culinary at Baskin-Robbins, said in a statement.

How to get an 80-cent scoop

In order to score an 80-cent scoop of ice cream on Sunday, Dec. 7, you must sign up or already be a Baskin-Robbins Rewards member. You can sign up for Baskin-Robbins Rewards on their website.

Baskin-Robbins Rewards members will also get the chance to end the year with 31% off all scoops later this month, on Wednesday, Dec. 31.

Baskin-Robbins unveils seasonal offerings

In addition to 80-cent scoops on Dec. 7, an assortment of seasonal treats awaits Baskin-Robbins customers who are partial to peppermint, coffee, fudge, or all three.

Most, if not all of the items that form part of the holiday-themed lineup, are available for purchase in-shop, online, on the BR app or through mobile ordering and delivery.

Baskin-Robbins' holiday-themed lineup includes:

  • Peppermint Ice Cream: Packed with real peppermint candy pieces, customers can purchase the limited-time flavor throughout December while supplies last, including in the Peppermint Fudge Cappy and the new Peppermint Avalanche Cake in a Box.
  • Peppermint Avalanche Cake: This shareable, easy-to-transport dessert layers chocolate cake, Oreo pieces, peppermint ice cream, whipped frosting, peppermint bark pieces and fudge for the ultimate festive “wow” moment.
  • Peppermint Fudge Cappy: Peppermint ice cream is blended with arabica coffee and fudge, finished with whipped cream, fudge, and peppermint candy pieces.
  • Chocolate Fudge Cappy: Real coffee is blended with chocolate ice cream andrich fudge, topped with whipped cream and a fudge drizzle.
