INDIANAPOLIS -- The Pacers are signing wing Garrison Mathews to a second 10-day hardship exception contract, a league source confirmed to the IndyStar on Monday.
Mathews is a career 38% 3-point shooter but has made just 2 of 13 3-point attempts in five games with the Pacers. He is in his seventh NBA season with previous stints with the Wizards, Rockets and Hawks.
To be granted a hardship exception, teams must have at least four players who have missed at least three consecutive games who are also expected to miss two more weeks. The Pacers have six players listed as out for Monday's game in All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton, forwards Obi Toppin, Aaron Nesmith and Johnny Furphy and guards Kam Jones and Quenton Jackson.
