We knew Tommy Egan’s origin story would be among those told in Power: Origins . Well, everyone originates with a mom, for better and for worse — especially in this case.

On Monday, Starz revealed it has cast Jennifer Ferrin in the role of young Kate Egan, Tommy’s (pretty terrible) mom and Ghost’s adoptive one. Power: Origins is the direct sequel to Power Book III: Raising Kanan .

Ferrin joins a call sheet that now includes the returning Jason Dirden as Traymont Stinson; he’ll join Spence Moore as young Ghost, Charlie Mann (young Tommy) and MeKai Curtis, who continues from Power Book III: Raising Kanan in the title role of Kanan. Dirden’s is a recurring role — the main guys are the main guys.
