NITRO, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A major stormwater project is now underway.
Ground was broken Monday in Nitro for the Walker Street Stormwater Project.
This long-awaited, multi-million dollar project is designed to upgrade infrastructure, improving the area’s flooding problems.
The first phase alone will take a year, starting on Walker Street.
The project will feature a 60-inch drain line from the river all the way to First Avenue.
