A weather system is expected to bring cold rain and potential light snow to Middle Tennessee.

Minor travel impacts are possible, said the National Weather Service.

Winter weather is quickly arriving , as December kicks off in Nashville with chances for light snowfall accumulation.

According to the National Weather Service, a system expected to bring widespread precipitation through the morning and early afternoon of Dec. 2 will move into Middle Tennessee from the south on the afternoon of Dec. 1.

Conditions will begin with cold rain later on Dec. 1 and into the night, wrote the weather service in their morning discussion, but as temperatures drop overnight, some areas may transition to wintry precipitation by the morning of Dec. 2.
