SARASOTA, Fla. ( WWSB ) - Sarasota County Stormwater staff and contractors have begun preparing staging and management areas for the Phillippi Creek dredging project, according to a Dec. 1 project update.
Dredging is expected to begin this month and take about six months to complete.
The West Coast Inland Navigation District (WCIND) also is preparing to dredge from the mouth of the creek to a point 2,000 feet upstream of U.S. 41.
Sarasota County and WCIND have secured all required permits and are coordinating with their contractors for the dredging work.
